DVD TESTIMONIALS

Potato,

Thank you so much.  I received your DVD yesterday and just finished watching it this morning - what a joy!

In a way I feel "validated" even though I am very new to this sport, because of my habit of traveling light.  I don't carry a lot of "things" with me on the trail, I ride alone, on remote mountain trails, and have been told that I don't carry enough "things."  You know what I'm talking about, from watching your video!  So to hear you say that you don't need all the modern accessories makes me feel really good.  Especially I liked your views on stirrups!  So many people now are using the huge "endurance" stirrups, and I find them very bulk and cumbersome - and NOT comfortable.  Whew - thank goodness I'm not alone in feeling that way.

Potato, your advice will be used, I appreciate it so very much.  I hope some day to meet you, and it would be my dream to some day be able to have a horse from your breeding line.  I do not know if you have horses available from time to time.

At any rate, please know your DVD was wonderful and informative to me!

Hello Potato The DVD and VHS tapes arrived safely. I really liked them both. The sound effects with the discarded tack items was priceless. I am always telling my die hard Dressage friends that they have no sense of humor and would enjoy their sport more if they would learn to laugh at themselves and their ways. The perfect 10 meter circle is not life or death and it won't get us world peace or cure cancer, to my way of thinking. They are so busy struggling along for perfection; they have totally forgotten that riding is supposed to be fun! Thanks for a great and educational DVD and it was a nice supprise to find all the samples and information tucked in with the shipment. I'll be looking for a volume two in the future. Thanks again and I wish you and Cathy safe and sunny trails. Beverly bevmjcox@earthlink.net

Potato, Enjoyed the NG video and it gave me a glimpse of the Tevis which I will be out to try in about 2 more years. My horse doing really well and will be doing first 100 this coming spring. I am always interested to learn new ways to do things that work better so eagerly awaiting your new DVD. I'll email back with feedback shortly. Thanks and hope to meet you in person in a year or so, Becky

Hi:

Just wanted to let you know that I enjoyed your video. Took me a couple minutes to figure out that I could not play it on my TV and needed to put it in my computer. I'm not much of a computer techie. I appreciated the emphasis you placed on posting because I feel its very important and nobody ever talks about it. If you ever do another video, I sure would like to see that area expanded upon. I also would have liked to have seen more about your feeding program and your own personal physical fitness program.

Thanks, again, for a great video.

[RC] Tevis Video by Potato - Catfish Daniels

Just thought I'd share this on ridecamp since all the discussions of the recent Tevis. I just ran into a pretty cool DVD that Potato produced. It's basically a 50 minute DVD that talks about strategy and advice on endurance riding - horse and saddle selection, etc.etc. I found it to be fun and actually quite informative - touched on a lot of subjects that's been recenty discussed on ridecamp.

Every time I visit his Sliger Mine Ranch, I've gotta say I'm amazed about his natural and "simple" approach to endurance riding - sticking to the basics, and keeping it really simple and fun. Let's face it, he's won the Tevis twice and has so far 17 completions. One thing I found whenever I travel up his way to ride, despite his horses' conditioning, when you look at them, they always look like they're on vacation and extremely healthy. Anyway, I know there are different schools of thought - but you really might want to check out his latest DVD. Potato's e-mail is Potato@jps.net if you want to contact him for a copy.

Have fun
Catfish

Hey Potato,

I just seen your DVD.  I liked it.  Very no nonsense.

Wished you could have gotten into the training a little.

A friend and I are riding for our first 25 miler.  So the more info the better.  Would have love to seen more of the horses going down the trail.  Maybe even from the Tevis.  Not knocking your DVD.  Could you have used a quad or something else to video the horses going down the trail so it would be smoother.

Good luck in your endeavors.  Happy Trails.

Sincerely,

Barb
