I
would like to show you a special headstall that I first used in 1998.
I really like it because it gives your horse the freedom to breath
easily and eat without the restrictions of a bit. Let’s face it in
most riders mind the bridle is for control of the horse. Fact is if a
horse wants to run off no matter what you have in his mouth he is
going to run off.
For a trail horse the most important
thing is his balance and the head of a horse is certainly used for
balance as he maneuvers along the
trail. He will move his head to maintain his balance as he glides
around rocks on the trail or to extend his step maintain his footing.
The freedom of movement is so important to his travel.
This headstall is fantastic as it
provides that freedom. If you look at the photo’s of my horses
crossing the finish line you will see that this is the headstall I
use. I have asked a local saddle repair and leather worker to make it
special for me. He is in the process of making a special custom order
and if you preorder it you can buy it for a special price of only $75
US. This is a limited production run and after this order the price
will be much higher. It is really good quality leather and all hand
made quality workmanship. This is a grade of leather that will last
forever. Forget that plastic type of material that holds heat and get
slippery when it’s wet. Sure it maybe easy to clean etc but it’s not
quality leather that has the virtue of a natural feel that only
natural products can have.
Several riders have seen the
