| Cathy Rohm rode to victory this year
in the world's toughest competition,
the renowned Tevis Cup
100-mile one-day endurance ride through the
Sierra Mountains. There were 199
entrants this year, and most all of
the dedicated riders push their
equines to the limit in hopes of
claiming the Tevis Cup. Placing
first is a real accomplishment, but
not to take away from half of the
entrants that will earn a buckle by
completing the ride within the 24
hour time limit. (Which is quite an
accomplishment in itself) |
| This
incredible victory brings home to
Sliger Mine Ranch the third Tevis
win by home-bred and raised SMR
horses. Add the winning of the
Haggin Cup by Cathy in 2001 on the
same horse that Potato won the Tevis
Cup on in 2002, and it is pretty
obvious that it is not a
coincidence to see the trophies pile
up at SMR. |
